Indiana Jones! (spoilers in comments)

It was Indiana Jones! Complete with hat, whip and music! Yay!

What can I say? I loved it. *happy sigh*

Yeah, the whole Thor and spaceship thing was quite amusing, but you could see that coming a mile off once you had mention of 1947 and the amazing magnetic artefact which attracted non-magnetic items randomly.

I did love the way they didn't fall into predictability, and also loved the way they just took the piss (Indy Jr doing a Tarzan?!) with a completely straight face. Magic.

I particularly liked the fact that the magnetic abilities of the skull could apparently be turned on or off by covering it with a thin piece of material :-)

My OU course looks at science in SciFi next month. I can't wait!

Oh, that'll be a whole load of fun. Share some of it, will you? Science according to Stargate is on a par with science according to Indy and science according to most programmes and films. Some of them are very much worse than others, but I do find it amusing when the writers are proud of their knowledge instead of actually doing some research or asking an expert.

Ankh and I were sitting in the cinema yesterday giggling about the magic protective properties of the wooden box the artefact was in, the magic protective properties of the bit of cloth, the magic protective properties of a fridge (against a full blown nuclear blast), the amazing Tarzan skills of a teenager, and on and on. But it's Indiana Jones! They get a pass. ;-)
