Feb telly update
Lots of new things started in the new year, and some have lasted but others have just dropped off my radar. Things that survived:
- Flashpoint. I like it, and it's growing on me further. The main chap has consistently annoyed me in other things, but I'm getting used to his character here.
- Whitechapel. Turned out to be only 3 episodes, with the final one coming up on Monday. It's been okay, but a bit cliche-riddled.
- CSI:NY. It's okay. None of the characters are particularly interesting, so I probably wouldn't notice if it vanished off my telly.
- Eureka, Eli Stone, Numb3rs - all good.
What I've dropped:
- 24. Yeah, definitely not for me.
- The Border. It looked like it would be interesting, but it's another one of those programmes that seems to think 'gritty' is good, and people are interested in arsehole characters. No thanks.
- Bones. Still pants.
- Generation Kill. I thought it would be too violent, but it just turned out to be immensely dull.
- CSI S9 is heading up its own backside. Well, okay, it's been doing that for a few years now, but I think it's beyond help.
Things still to come:
- Mentalist. Hasn't started as yet.
- Law & Order: UK. It looks like a good effort on the part of ITV. Will wait and see.
- Primeval. Yet to arrive, and no date for it, which is odd.
- Torchwood. Again, yet to arrive and no date. The trailer is cracking, though!

Glad to see you liking Flashpoint. Hugh Dillon whom I think you are referring to, as a killer scene in a later episode that was just jaw dropping.
Yeah The Border is just not my kind of show for the same reason as you.
I'm still watching Numb3rs but I don't know why anymore, pretty much habit. I no longer care about the characters and it's lost the brother vibe I liked and has too much romantic undertones for my taste. But then I think I've made it fairly clear that I despise the character of Amita and she ruins every scene she's in as far as I'm concerned so with the greater emphasis on that character the show leaves me cold.

Numb3rs I'm watching S4 and S5 at the same time, because they're all new episodes to us here. It can be a little confusing, but I'm obviously not bothered enough to separate them out.
There may be some more good things coming down the line, but our big new show time is usually around January so we'll see.
