Nooo!

Apparently there's a big screen film being made of The Equalizer, which was one of my favourite programmes back in the day. Yay! But... also apparently Russell Crowe is going to star in it. Boo! I have a while to decide if my love for the show will beat out my dislike for the actor.

Ew. I totally understand the dilemma.

Though you might want to factor in they'll probably cut out anything that made "The Equalizer" the show that it was, as Hollywood usually does, to the point where they share nothing but a title and the most basic of concepts.

Okay, yes, that's a very good point. I didn't see Starsky & Hutch or Dukes of Hazzard for those reasons. Miami Vice was a disaster. They'd probably only keep the title and give up on the rest. And where would Mickey be?

They tend to do TV remakes as either unfunny comedies and/or blowing stuff up movies when that wasn't the way the TV show was done. They sort of miss the point of the original, or even if they didn't, the original just doesn't translate well in today's world.

Though I admit to seeing the A-Team movie. It wasn't bad. Stuck to the basic concept of the show and sort of retconned it into a "how they met and later went on the run" story. Didn't care for the guy they had playing Face, but Murdoch saves the day with the crazy. *g*
