A rare thing
Oct. 14th, 2007 05:09 pmHow often, these days, can you watch a TV series or film and not have to include an assessment of the quality of acting into your opinion on whether a particular episode or series is any good? I watch a variety of shows, and even my favourites have one or two (or more) people in there who just can't pull the acting thing off. It affects my viewing more than shitty writing or shitty directing, probably because a lot of shitty writing can be (and often is) saved by good acting, and shitty directing is often passed off as some deliberate 'artistic choice'.
Dunno what to say about it really, other than is this a recent thing? It's so rare to have television and films that are quality the whole way from the pen to the screen.
