Now I'm really impressed

This is apparently a fountain at a Japanese shopping centre. It makes words and pictures by controlling the water jets very carefully.

Also, I've written about 500 words so far today. Wrote about 300 yesterday as well as doing some useful thinking around the characters and the story. This is all good. Will write some more now, and then have a whole day tomorrow for it, plus some more time at the weekend.

According to this week's television...

... we, in the UK:
- don't know how to dress ourselves
- need to lose more weight than all our ancestors' weighed added together
- have no idea how to look after our children
- can't sing
- have no talent
- can't read or write
- have no design skills, be it for decorating or revamping our houses
- are messy and unclean
- can't manage our money
- lie, cheat and scam
- are drunken yobs
- and don't know we're born

And all of this I could have learned by watching 'entertainment' on television. Thank the FSM I'm not daft enough to actually watch any of that tat. What a load of bollocks. And yet the news is an order of magnitude worse.

Is this some kind of government-sponsored plan to make the entire country feel completely crap about themselves?
