Too far ahead in my requirements
Sep. 30th, 2007 08:16 pmI want to replace my Tungsten T3, mostly because it's been dropped on its head too often and isn't taking well to the treatment. Although, being dropped on its head yesterday restored the speaker to full operation, so maybe I should try percussive maintenance with it more often.
Anyhoo... I thought I'd have a look out there on the interwebs for what I could potentially replace my beloved widget with, and frankly there's nothing that's worth paying for. The move to PDA / phone mixes apparently means you get a dodgy phone and a dodgy PDA in one package. I have a phone. The battery life isn't great, but otherwise I really like it. I don't need a new phone. I need a new PDA, and having done the research the answer is no PDA is anywhere near good enough for me to upgrade. Maybe in a few years, when the tech companies have finally caught up with my requirements, I'll find something I like, but at the moment it's just not on the market. I can only hope it doesn't take them as long to build what I want as it took technology firms to build a commercial DVD HD recorder after I'd decided that's what I needed (I was 10; it was 22 years later that I got my wish), because my T3 simply isn't going to survive that long.
