The latest Doctor Who news means I won't be watching the next series. I'm not going to put myself through that. Damn it! Why did they have to pick one of the most irritating people on the planet?

I'm seriously unimpressed too. I liked Martha, damn it.

I really liked Martha, too. So much better and more grown-up than Rose. Donna is just a caricature of a chav, played by a woman who can't act. Dreadful decision.

I'm going to give it a try because I really enjoyed Doctor Who so far but I'm with you on this. Donna was really annoying. By the end of the last Christmas episode, I was very glad to see her go.

Hmm...that was not the icon I meant to choose. But I haven't had coffee yet so not so coordinated yet. *yawn*

I watched the Christmas ep in horror, mostly because I couldn't believe it could get worse than Rose. But Tate was obviously a high achiever in the bloody awful stakes.

*wrinkles forehead, confused as to why the Australian being in the Christmas special would keep you from watching all of series 4*

*scrolls down flist to check for later news from Outpost Gallifrey*

*sees "Donna"*

*grinds teeth*

Dammit, and I was enjoying this show so much. I'd thought the inclusion of Donna in the last Christmas special was a deliberate way of smoothing the transition to Martha by assuring Rose fans that it could have been worse. Donna is so clearly NOT suited to be a companion. Wish the spiders would have eaten her.

Eaten would have been good. Nasty icky woman. By now I'm used to looking for other things to watch when a particular programme that I like takes a nosedive, but I didn't think I'd have to avoid DW.

Oh, thank goodness I'm not the only one dismayed. The beeb blurb made it sound like she had been the most popular character ever.

Still, looking forward to Kylie at Christmas.

You're not the only one dismayed. The BBC's Have Your Say on this seems universally irritated / annoyed / upset / disappointed - pick your word. Kylie could be good, but I've already hit 'moving on' mode in my head so I may or may not watch that one.

NOOOO!!! I love Tennant as Who. I *want* to watch - but... but... Good lord, what the hell are they thinking?!

Okay, now I'm depressed. :-(

I don't love Tennant, but I have finally got to like him - Tennant's Doctor with Martha is oh so much better than with Rose. And I have no idea what the hell they were thinking. Is this the same kind of delusion as TPTB who think Sam Carter is beloved by fans?

:-( What is the latest news? I don't watch this show, so I don't keep up. Why is it bad?
