BBC News have the full election thing going, with stupid animated maps and graphs, people nobody's ever heard of prattling on just to fill time, cameras in various places in the dark and cold talking to other people nobody's ever heard of, and a timeline for when votes are coming in. Yet I haven't had a polling card, nor notice of a local or general election. It's just... depressing, actually. I have no idea what the BBC and the rest of the UK media have been smoking, but I wish they'd stop.

I apologise for my moronic country.

In this case it's my moronic country that's the problem.

I keep checking in the mail for my US citizenship card but so far nothing. It's damn annoying, since I must be living in America given the wall-to-wall coverage of The Election on my telly.

I didn't vote. Does that make me a bad US citizen?

Just because I'm a huge nerd, I have to point out Babeland is a business that originated in Seattle. *kicks NYC* ;)

Alas, they were out of vibrators by the time I got there. Heh.

Leave it to you to find something like that. *G*

I don't get it. I'd really like to. I keep thinking I'm missing something important that I don't understand why the trauma of our election has to spill over into your lives, but I really don't get it.

How can they possibly think it's *that* important or interesting for you?

Well the result is interesting... *g* I managed to watch and clear a good few percent off my SKY+ last night, because even my sister couldn't find anything else she wanted to watch *ggg*

I'm almost through watching the 4400 from the start, so I was fine with stuff to watch last night *g*.

You do know the 4400 was canceled, right?

I do. That's why I managed to get the full series boxset for a bargain price. :-)

I'm finding it easier to watch shows once they're done, and I've missed some or most of several programmes that I do actually want to watch. It's nice to be able to watch them on my own schedule.

I'd much prefer to just get the results when everything is over and counted. I hate Election Day. (and I'm really, really sorry that you're not even in the US and you have to suffer too.)

It was totally wall-to-wall coverage on both main channels - and football on the other channels. I think we should apply for postal votes next time.

Given the stuff we've heard about American grasp of geography (and that isn't just from Rynogency *g*) - we might even succeed. *g* The 51st state and all that...

I read somewhere (think it might have been yesterday's Daily Mail) the ridiculous number of staff the BBC currently has in the US to cover the election. Maybe they're just bored because Brown put off calling an election here, testing out their latest wizzy graphics and all?

I've just avoided the news, something to do with not watching TV very often.

Ah. You're getting the U.S. Election coverage version where all the networks are that way - usually, the same five minutes of information repeated ad nauseum until the actual news starts rolling in. Don't suppose they're piping in BBC America by accident?

Sadly, it's as if BBC News 24 had no idea there was anything else going on in the world. And yes, it was the same stuff over and over as far as I could tell.

I haven't seen BBC America - is it any good?
