Just had a call from "Jack from Accident Services" who wanted to "confirm that someone at this number has had an accident".

Yeah, fuck off, person-who-is-in-no-way-called-Jack. I hung up without another word.

Grrr. Am getting grumpier by the day. Good thing I have this grumpy icon to hand.

Hah! I got called by them too, had an amusing 5 minutes where I refused to tell him anything until he identified himself and his company fully, he hung up on me, LOL.

Apparently it's getting a lot more common. The TPS just sent me a standard email telling me not to give any information to these people. Yes, I figured that out for myself.

I was sorely tempted, but it was the middle of the day, I was working, he'd pulled me out of my concentration zone and I just wanted him to go away. Git.

I've had them too! Asked who it was who was supposed to have had an accident and where they got that information from. Put him right off his script and he hung up.

Then he phoned back about 10 minutes later, apparently having failed to cross me off his list. He quickly realised he'd made an error...

How can they not anticipate people's reactions? How can it not be in their script for someone to say 'Really? Who at this number?' and them to have an answer? Bunch of plonkers.
