(I say that having once humiliated myself by writing "mouses" on a spelling test. Well, the word right before it was "houses"!)

Most people seem to just stick with 'lead' for past as well. I can understand the mistake - why would it be different from 'read'? But I see it correctly so rarely I do wonder what everyone is smoking. The BBC (among other news sites / papers) are big culprits, but your average blog never gets it right.

I would never presume to tell you such a thing. Dragging and drugging are often closely linked, and far be it from me to attempt any kind of separation.
